It is designed for AV rack installations where network-connected equipment shares a rack with power management hardware and needs signal line protection beyond the AC circuit.Product DescriptionThe MOD-CAT5 plugs into the modular expansion bay of a compatible Panamax MaxMOD base unit, adding Ethernet signal line protection to an existing AV power management installation. It protects all 8 pins of an RJ-45 connection using differential and common-ground suppression modes, with a 19V initial clamping level at 1 mA and a capacitance of less than 6 pF — low enough to maintain signal integrity at Gigabit Ethernet speeds up to 1000 BASE-T. The module is CAT5E compliant and compatible with CAT 5, fast Ethernet, ATM, and other 100 MHz-per-pair active transport networks. Panamax MOD modules can be stacked or daisy-chained to protect multiple network lines on a single base unit installation. cULus certified.
