Whilst currently only found in the bamboo forests of China's Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, the Giant Panda's natural habitat used to stretch across Southeast China, even in to Northern Vietnam. Whilst not an iconic symbol of Hong Kong per se, the loss of habitat and resulting classification as an endangered species is an important reminder of the impact we have on the natural world around us.
