Paper Animal Workshop PC CD Strategic Alliance KittyHawk creativity create art Type: Children Platform: Windows Publisher: Strategic Alliance Partners Released: 1995 Media: CD There comes a time when making paper airplanes just won't do anymore. Especially when you're trying to establish a relationship with your daughter, whose experience with paper airplanes means being bombarded with fighter squadrons built and launched by her older brothers. So, we sit down with "Paper Animal Workshop," another charming fold-it-yourself treat from the creative folks at KittyHawk Software. They're the geniuses behind "The Greatest Paper Airplanes." With the "Paper Animal Workshop" interactive CD-ROM, we can get directions for making paper butterflies, cranes, crows, elephants, hawks, koalas, lions, peacocks, seals, sharks, turtles and whales. And we can put them in four settings: desert, jungle, ocean and savanna. Like "Greatest Paper Airplanes," we watched animated instructions on how to fold the paper animals and how to make dioramas. We can fold fast, slow or medium, and we can get frame-by-frame instructions (visual and written), and we can print out our creations and fold them on the dotted lines. If we don't understand something, we can roll back the instructions, just like with a VCR. For the engineers among us, images can be rotated, turned on their sides and enlarged. Naturally, all this is done with jungle, ocean, savanna and desert sounds. When we had produced a few animals and were ready to present them to an older brother, we shouldn't have been too surprised when Older Brother sailed a fully assembled whale in our direction. "Boys!" huffed his sister. - Harold Glicken Knight-Ridder NewspapersFor Windows (32-bit Systems) [*Please review compatibility/platform sections in 'What You Get']
