functional sculpture, comfortable and welcoming seating which is both durable and light, and seemingly gravity-defying. paper planes originated from a fabric design based around graph paper: its shape comes from the folding and modelling of paper as an exploration of form and structure, to create angles, lines and polygons. its seeming simplicity demands masterful sartorial skill: the lines of the fabric must be perfectly aligned with the geometry of the chair which means that there is no room for error. injected flame-retardant polyurethane foam over internal steel frame. base is square tubular steel with matt coat finish; glides are steel with chrome finish or brass. paper planes collection covers are not removable.
