Grown for its beautiful "exfoliating" (peeling) bark AND for it's slow-growing, smaller growth-habit - Perfect for planting near your home or patio or in other spots where space is limited. Bark begins to peel on trunks and limbs that are 2-3 years old. Leaves turn a vibrant SCARLET color in fall before dropping for winter.
