A very rare well-formed crystal specimen of Paracelsian from the classic Welsh location at Benallt Mine, Rhiw, Lleyn Peninsula. Characteristic steep chisel shaped terminated crysta ls of gemmy colourless to opaque white Paracelsian, measuring to 1.4cm protrude a matrix of the same mineral. Under SW UV light Paracelsian glows a vivid deep red. Although Benallt mine is not technically the Type Locality for Paracelsian crystals have never been found elsewhere let alone of this size. Crystals from this location only occasionally come on to the mineral market, and the specimen we have is a fine example from the location. The specimen comes with a Sir Arthur Russell handwritten label recording that he collected it in 1911. Show more
