Type: Red WineGrape(s): 100% TempranilloWine Region: Rioja, Spain Tasting Notes: Sappy tannins, black cherry fruit and very subtle wood combine beautifully on the palate. Paso Las Mañas is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes and is a young, vibrant, fresh and simple Rioja. The Estate: Paso Las Mañas comes from a high-altitude zone in Samaniego called El Chorro. The vines are still young at only eight years' old, but this gives a wonderfully balanced, concentrated wine with remarkable freshness, precision and chalky focus. Jancis Robinson & Tim Atkin regard Bodegas Artuke and Paso Las Manas vineyard as one of Spain's finest single sites. Suggested food and wine pairing: Rioja is traditionally the perfect partner for lamb and Paso Las Manas from Artuke fits that bill perfectly, would also be great with fillet steak.
