The passage fee is the contribution that a Member of the Order owes to the Grand Magistry, when admitted, promoted or transferred to another category. This contribution is called " passage fee" in remembrance of the fee the Knights had to pay when travelling by sea to Jerusalem. The passage fees are a charity donation.
