Beloved Texas Native passion vine blooms copiously with small lilac blossoms. Great host for gulf fritillary and other pollinators which may strip the plant alarmingly of leaves bu t never fear, these vines are resilient and will regrow! Edible, lightly sweet fruit held in green ferny fronds and look like something from outer space! Young leaves and plant tips are also edible. Dry leaves are used in tea in Vietnamese folk medicine to relieve sleeping problems, as well as treatment for itching and coughs, though foliage has been noted as possibly toxic to cattle.
