Making this piece was a slow and meticulous process of over the course of many months, resulting in a cabinet that is next iteration of furniture in the Cut + Stick collection.With it, I am trying to strike the balance between the beauty of patchwork, and the functionality inherently necessary in cabinetry.The Cut + Stick process consists of collecting a variety of unwanted timber offcuts, then intuitively cutting and sticking the pieces together to form a larger material with a distinctive patchwork aesthetic.This collection looks to celebrate the beauty and unique nature of different timbers as a collective - whilst also providing a commentary on the need for biodiversity in the woodlands that these trees once came from.
