インド・グジャラート地方の伝統的な絹織物、パトラ。経糸も緯糸も先染めし織り上げる経緯絣（ダブルイカット）です。糸を張り図面を映し、模様の色ごとに括っては染めを繰り返す。更にその細い糸を模様に狂いがない様に織ることを考えると気の遠くなる様な時間と高度な技術を要することが明らかです。 王族や貴族が富と権力の象徴として身に着けた歴史もあり、その技法から流通数も少な く、王侯貴族の衰退や大量生産品におされ19世紀後半には廃れてしまいます。 こちらは途絶えてしまう前のパトラ。ご来店が可能であれば、是非実物をお手に取ってご覧いただきたい品物です。画像では伝わりづらいのですが、ふわりと軽く柔らかで心地よい手触りを感じてみてください。 時代物ゆえにフリンジとその近くなどに切れや、そのほか穴に近いほつれ等もございますが、全体的には傷みが少なく状態はかなり良い方かと思います。 【お支払い方法について】こちらのお品物は銀行振込、又は実店舗の店頭でのお支払いとなります。詳細についてはお問合せ下さい。（Tel: 042-335-5253） Patora, a traditional silk textile from Gujarat, India.This is a double ikat fabric in which both the warp and weft threads are resist‑tied and dyed before weaving. Each color in the pattern is individually bound and dyed, and aligning these extremely fine threads so the motifs appear without distortion requires extraordinary time and highly advanced craftsmanship. As an antique piece, there are small frays, tears and areas near the fringe that approach tiny holes, but overall the textile shows very little damage and is in remarkably good condition.
