Adapted from Papillons by E.A. Séguy (1925). Séguy used the pochoir technique – the intricate layering of paints using stencils – to create beautiful templates for use on textiles, wallpapers and other interior design media. Here we have used his butterfly compositions, accurately observed from scientific drawings, to create wrapping paper. Courtesy Smithsonian Libraries / Biodiversity Heritage Libraries.
