Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, Hiroshi Watanabe graduated from Nihon University's Department of Photography in 1975. After working in production coordination for Japanese television commercials in Los Angeles, he co-founded a coordination services company. He earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson Business School in 1993. In 1995, his passion for photography reignited, leading him to travel the world extensively.
