Paulina Amone’s life is deeply rooted in Isiolo County. Born at the slopes of the surrounding mountains, Isiolo has always been home for her. It is where she grew up, got married, and started her family. For Paulina, Isiolo carries not only her memories but also her entire life story.Her life changed drastically when she lost her husband. Left to raise two daughters on her own, Paulina faced the weight of responsibility and the loneliness of widowhood. She shares that her youngest daughter has become her greatest support and constant companion. “It is my youngest daughter who always helps me,” she explains. “There is no one else who helps me.”Despite her daughter’s help, Paulina’s living conditions remain difficult. The wood in her home has deteriorated over the years, making her shelter fragile. She has no mattress to sleep on. The only mattress she once owned was given to her by a kind neighbor, but when Paulina was admitted to the hospital, it was stolen. With limited resources and support, even the most basic comforts of life are often out of reach.Paulina also depends on a wheelchair, and she recalls a terrifying moment from her past with striking clarity. One day, bandits attacked her village. While her neighbors fled to safety, she was left sitting outside, unable to escape. “I counted 23 bandits,” she remembers. “As I prayed, I told myself, if I die, at least I know how many they were.” Miraculously, the bandits passed her without harm. Later, her neighbors returned and carried her to safety. Unfortunately, she later learned that the attackers had killed others in the village. Though it was a moment of fear and uncertainty, Paulina recalls it with a small laugh, saying, “God really looks out for me.”In the midst of hardship, Mama Ibado Charity has become a source of hope and relief for Paulina. Through the charity’s food distribution program, she receives monthly rations that bring stability and comfort to her household. “When I get food from Mama Ibado Charity, I am satisfied and happy,” she says with gratitude. “The food has really helped us. There is no hunger like before.” For Paulina, these meals are more than just sustenance; they represent dignity, joy, and the assurance that she and her daughters will not go hungry.Her gratitude is unwavering. “Mama Ibado Charity really helps us,” Paulina says with a smile. “I pray that God blesses them abundantly.
