My Sandy Paws mugs are inspired by our regular beach walks at Ballyquin Beach. I first throw these mugs with a toasty tan stoneware clay. This clay is heavy in grog and leaves a ro ugh sandy texture on the body of the mug. The mugs are then trimmed, handles attached and the paw prints embossed before being slowly dried and bisque fired. I then glaze them with 6 different coats of glazing and fire them again to 1220c to achieve this tan and cream combo. The mug measures approximately 9cm tall. Every mug has the same theme but are all slightly different. Price is per 1 mug. All my pieces are handmade by me in my studio in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
