Our "Paws for Purpose" Dog Therapy Training Course is an introductory workshop designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge required to pursue your goal of working with Therapy or Support Dogs. Whether you're training a dog for personal support, NDIS assistance, or preparing dogs for roles in psychology, aged care, schools, or workplace support, this workshop offers tailored guidance to meet your needs. While this course does not include PAT (Public Access Test) certification, it provides a solid foundation to help you and your dog prepare for future assessments. Upon completing the course, you’ll receive a confirmation of training, which can be a valuable asset as you progress in your certification journey. Throughout the program, you’ll learn from guest speakers representing renowned animal therapy organizations, including Delta, Mind Dogs, Story Dogs, and Assistance Paws. These insights will broaden your understanding of the world of Animal-Assisted Therapy. Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded a Certificate of Human and Animal Handler Competency for prospective therapy-related roles. This certificate is an excellent addition to your toolkit as you work towards formal assessments or certification.
