Released in Japan in 1988, the NEC PC Engine AV Booster is an official expansion accessory designed for the original PC Engine console. It connects directly to the rear expansion p ort, adding composite video output and enhanced audio capabilities, addressing the limitations of the base unit’s RF-only signal. By improving visual clarity and simplifying connections to modern displays, it significantly enhances the usability of early PC Engine systems. It also provides a more stable platform for certain system configurations and accessories. For players it improves everyday playability, while collectors value it as a key component of the original PC Engine hardware ecosystem. Show more
