It is highly valued in the aquarium hobby for its bold personality, attractive coloration, and unique behaviors, making it a favorite for nano and species-only tanks. Adult Pea Puffers typically reach about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in length, making them one of the smallest pufferfish in the world. They have a rounded, compact body with bright yellow to olive-green coloration, accented by dark spots and iridescent golden eyes. Males may develop subtle wrinkles behind the eyes and display deeper coloration, while females are generally rounder and paler. A tank of at least 10 gallons is recommended for a small group.
