Efficient Organization for Pediatric Emergencies Pediatric calls are among the most stressful events in EMS. The R&B Fabrications PEDI Pack simplifies these high-pressure moments by streamlining your specific pediatric loadout. Designed to carry essential child-sized equipment without the bulk of a full trauma bag, this purpose-built pack ensures that BVMs, intubation tools, and IV fluids are instantly accessible and logically organized. Key Features Rapid Access Layout: Dual self-healing zippers open the main compartment fully, while "quick-release" handles allow you to grab and go even if the bag isn't zipped shut, preventing spills. Bulk Storage Front Pocket: A spacious, gusseted front pouch provides ample room to store a child or infant BVM and a 1000cc IV fluid bag without crushing delicate face masks. Specialized Interior: Features a standing internal divider with nylon pockets perfect for holding Broselow tapes, pediatric dosing guides, or oxygen delivery tubing. Airway Management: Integrated elastic straps specifically designed to secure different sizes of pediatric laryngoscope blades, handles, and endotracheal tubes. Professional Identification: Constructed from distinctive purple DuPont Cordura® nylon—the universal color for pediatric medical gear—making it instantly recognizable on a chaotic scene. Durability & Hygiene: Reinforced with a heavy vinyl back panel that resists abrasion and allows for easy cleaning and decontamination after use. Why It Matters In a pediatric emergency, you cannot afford to dig through an adult bag for a Size 1 blade or a 5.0 tube. The PEDI Pack eliminates "gear confusion" by creating a dedicated, standalone kit. Its lightweight profile encourages responders to bring it on every call involving a child, ensuring the right tools are always at the patient's side. How to Use Pack the front pocket with your BVM and IV fluids. Use the internal elastic loops to organize your airway kit by size. Slide your Broselow tape or dosing reference cards into the standing divider pockets. Store the bag in the ambulance cab or strapped to your main gurney. When a pediatric call drops, grab the purple bag and know you are ready. Technical Overview The bag offers a total volume of 1183 cubic inches, balancing compactness with capacity. The "quick-release" handle design is a safety feature that keeps the bag's flaps pulled together during rapid movement, even if the zippers are not fully engaged.
