Its 1.3-inch Organic LED screen displays motor position on a 128 x 64 pixel grid, while the digital rotary encoder offers a 1:10 fine-focus mode for critical adjustments at the telescope without introducing vibration from touching the focuser. Vibration-Free Focusing with a 1:10 Fine Adjustment Ratio The core of the EZY Focus Hand Controller is its digital rotary encoder, which simulates the feel of a traditional focuser knob without any physical contact with the telescope. A simple press of the knob toggles between coarse adjustment and a precision 1:10 fine-focus mode, allowing you to make minute changes to the drawtube position required for perfect stellar images. This completely eliminates the vibrations that ruin sharp focus when using a manual focuser knob directly. 1.3-inch OLED Screen for Night Vision Critical focusing information is displayed on a bright, 1.3-inch Organic LED screen with a 128 x 64 pixel resolution. The display uses large, legible fonts and is covered with a red film to ensure your dark adaptation is preserved during an imaging session. You can clearly see the exact motor position, navigate motor position presets, and access the settings menu without needing a bright, white-light laptop screen. Seamless Parallel Control with PC Software The EZY Focus Hand Controller plugs directly into the EXT port of your Pegasus Astro device and can operate simultaneously with PC-based control. There is no need to unplug the controller when you switch to software like NINA or SGP for autofocus routines. The hand controller and your PC software work in parallel, with the motor position synced on both the OLED screen and your computer, giving you the best of both worlds: manual precision at the scope and automated control from your laptop. Direct Compatibility: Designed for the Ultimate Powerbox v2, Ultimate Powerbox v3, Prodigy Microfocuser, and FocusCube v3. Dedicated Buttons: Two additional buttons allow you to move the focuser IN or OUT by a precise, pre-configured step count for repeatable adjustments. Audible Confirmation: Every time the motor is moved via the buttons, an audible beep confirms the action, so you know the command was received without looking. Adjustable Red LED Map Light A large, bright red LED is integrated into the front of the EZY Focus Hand Controller, turning the device into a convenient red flashlight for reading star charts or finding dropped equipment in the dark. The brightness of this utility light is fully adjustable through the device's settings menu, allowing you to set it to a level that is useful without compromising your night vision. How does the EZY Focus Hand Controller's 1:10 fine focus mode help when imaging planets? When imaging planets like Jupiter or Saturn at high magnification with an SCT, achieving critical focus is extremely difficult. The 1:10 fine focus mode on the EZY Focus Hand Controller allows you to make incredibly small, controlled adjustments to the focuser position without shaking the telescope, which is essential for resolving fine details like cloud bands or the Cassini Division. Can I use the EZY Focus Hand Controller with my Ultimate Powerbox v2 and NINA at the same time? Yes. The EZY Focus Hand Controller is designed to work in parallel with PC software. You can plug it into the EXT port of your Ultimate Powerbox v2 and use it for manual focusing. When you start an autofocus routine in NINA, you do not need to unplug the hand controller; both will control the focuser and the position will remain synced. What devices is the EZY Focus Hand Controller compatible with? The EZY Focus Hand Controller is compatible with the following Pegasus Astro products: Ultimate Powerbox v2 Ultimate Powerbox v3 Prodigy Microfocuser FocusCube v3 What is the purpose of the two "" buttons on the EZY Focus Hand Controller? These buttons move the focuser IN or OUT by a precise, user-defined number of steps. This is useful for making repeatable adjustments, such as moving the focuser by a known offset to account for a filter change. An audible beep confirms each movement. Will the 1.3-inch OLED screen on the EZY Focus Hand Controller ruin my night vision? No, the screen is designed specifically for astronomy. It is an Organic LED (OLED) display covered with a red film, which emits red light to protect your dark-adapted vision. The fonts are large and clear, so you can read the display easily without harsh white light. Does the EZY Focus Hand Controller require its own power source? No, the EZY Focus Hand Controller is powered directly through the supplied RJ12 cable when you plug it into the EXT port of a compatible Pegasus Astro device like the Ultimate Powerbox v2 or Prodigy Microfocuser. No separate batteries or power cables are needed.
