I named this piece Ex-P because I was gaining experience. I was experimenting ith new ideas, developing my work faster, and becoming more comfortable letting a piece evolve as I worked. I’ve always been deeply interested in art, and I naturally approach what I make from an artistic point of view. When I came across this piece of Fordite, it was asking to be set. I followed that instinct and let the stone lead the direction of the piece. Detroit motor agate, commonly known as Fordite, captures decades of automotive paint history in a single striking stone. This distinctive pendant features naturally layered colors with an inherent aesthetic appeal, set with a solitary black spinel accent. The design creates intentional contrasts: satin-carved detailing in the lower sections transitions to high-polish brilliance surrounding the spinel, while deliberate oxidation above creates visual depth and character. A one-of-a-kind piece that brings industrial history together with contemporary gemstone artistry, handmade in .935 Argentium silver. Measures: 41mm long × 37mm wide.
