Pendleton Canadian Whisky 750ML is a blended Canadian whisky bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) that bridges two Pacific Northwest regions through a distinctive production process. What sets this expression apart is its use of glacier-fed spring water sourced from Mt. Hood, Oregon's highest peak, to proof whisky distilled in Calgary, Alberta — a cross-border approach uncommon in the Canadian whisky category.Quick Facts: ABV: 40% | Origin: Alberta, Canada / Oregon, USA | Blended Canadian Whisky | Distillery: Alberta Distillers Limited (Calgary)Production & HeritageThe base whisky is distilled by Alberta Distillers Limited (ADL), one of Canada's most established distilleries, located in Calgary, Alberta. ADL produces the spirit from northern Canadian grains, though the specific mashbill remains undisclosed. Hood River Distillers of Oregon then proofs the blend with glacier-fed spring water drawn from Mt. Hood before bottling — a step that gives Pendleton a notably soft mineral quality and ties the whisky to the rugged landscape of the Pacific Northwest. The brand itself carries a strong association with rodeo culture and the American West, named after the Oregon town famous for its annual Pendleton Round-Up.Tasting NotesAroma: Warm vanilla rises first, followed by layers of caramel and toasted marshmallow. A gentle whisper of baking spice rounds out the nose, keeping things inviting and uncomplicated.Taste: The entry is notably smooth and sweet, with caramel and honey taking the lead across the palate. Mid-palate, warm fall fruits — think baked apple and pear — emerge alongside soft vanilla. Oak influence appears toward the finish but stays restrained, contributing structure without bitterness.Finish: Clean and moderately short, the finish leaves behind gentle impressions of vanilla and a faint spice warmth. The texture remains mellow throughout, with no harsh burn at the close. How to Drink PendletonPendleton drinks easily neat or over a single large ice cube, where the cold amplifies its caramel sweetness without muting the fruit notes. Its smooth, sweet profile also makes it a reliable cocktail whisky. In a Whisky Sour, the caramel and honey backbone balances citrus without fighting it. A Highball with quality ginger ale plays well off the baking spice notes. And in an Old Fashioned, Pendleton's vanilla-forward character pairs naturally with orange peel and a dash of Angostura bitters.Best For Introducing someone to Canadian whisky with a smooth, approachable pour Mixing reliable whisky cocktails at a backyard barbecue or tailgate Gifting to fans of rodeo culture, Western heritage, or the Pacific Northwest Stocking a home bar with a versatile, easy-drinking blended whisky Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does Pendleton taste like?
