Penny Jacket Knitting Class Test your skills: This class has two knitted samples, covering the techniques and stitches required to knit the Penny Jacket and the pocket detail. The class has clear images and written instructions, including twisting the cable, counting rows, increasing and decreasing. This class will be emailed to you as a pdf document. Sample 1: Starts with just 30sts with cables and Corrugated Garter to form the button band, comfortable with this, add the second cable to create the paired cable, as centre of the sleeve. The decrease and increase create the vee neck shaping and collar.Sample 2: Over 24sts, a mini version of the pocket, steps you through creating the it. The knitting Kit/ Pattern: Sizes: The knitting pattern has six chest sizes from 33"to 51"/ 81 - 130cm with a chest ease of 4"/ 10cm per size. Extra Hip ease can be incorporated into the garment, adding 3"/8cm into the hip. Kits: Small (first 2 sizes of pattern) up to 37"/94cm (add 3"/8cm hip = 40"/102cm).Medium: up to 44"/112cm (add 3"/8cm hip = 47"/120cm).Large: up to 52"/132cm (add 3"/8cm hip = 55"/140cm). Collar Options: The image with three garments shows the three collar options in this pattern. The top garment shows the High Round Collar, as the Cream garment shown, buttons high with 6 buttons. Knitted in Brick Red the Vee Shawl Collar creates the turn back shawl style; knitted in Stone Fleck is the Vee Shawl with the High Round Collar. Cuff detail: The cuff on the sleeve is knitted separately and sewn on; see how the cables run in the opposite direction to the body of the sleeves. The cuff overlaps itself as a cuff trim and is completed with a button trim. This added on cuff allows for a very easy sleeve length adjustment. Cable detail: The cables twist in 2 directions, T2R & T2L = twist two stitches right or twist two stitches left. On the sleeves two cables are worked next to one another, so 8sts (2 x 4 stitch cables) two cables combine to create the crab claw cable centre sleeve and centre back. The right front side seam has T2L, the back right seam has T2R - so when the side seam is joined again we have the crab claw cable.
