Pentacles, the suit of earth, deals with our sense of resilience, our responsibility, and our reliability. This is about our material resources, our sense of security, and our physical surroundings. As the suit of earth, this is about what grounds us, what we make of what's around us. Earth is supported, stable, and fertile ground. This suit is also associated with ego, self-esteem and self image. Cups, on the other hand, is the suit of water, and deals with our emotions. This is contrasted to earth's physical realm, where cups is considered naturally empathetic and compassionate. This suit can also be considered healing and cleansing.
