The Pentax ME Super: A Little Camera with a Lot of Magic The Pentax ME Super packed an astonishing amount of creative freedom into one tiny SLR, and we’ve lovingly restored this one so it can feel friendly on your first roll and still inspire you years later. In 1979, Pentax took everything photographers loved about the petite Pentax ME and gave it more room to play. Manual exposure control, a faster 1/2000-second shutter, and upgraded flash compatibility transformed an already-lovely little camera into the Pentax ME Super.Today, the Pentax ME Super is perfect for someone who wants their first film camera to feel friendly (but still wants the freedom to learn, experiment, and grow.) It can make photography beautifully simple or wonderfully hands-on. You decide. Why You’ll Love It Beginner-friendly without being limiting: Start with aperture-priority Auto mode, then move into full manual exposure whenever you feel ready. Small enough to bring everywhere: The wonderfully compact body delivers the classic SLR experience without feeling bulky or burdensome. A viewfinder that actually helps: Split-image focusing, a microprism collar, and color-coded LEDs make focusing and exposure easier to understand. Fast when the moment calls for it: The 1/2000-second top shutter speed helps freeze movement and gives you more freedom when shooting in bright light. A whole world of lenses: The Pentax K mount gives you access to a wide variety of wonderful Pentax lenses for portraits, travel, everyday memories, and more. Restored with Love at Cute Camera Co: Every Pentax ME Super is lovingly restored by the Cute Camera Co. team so it works just like it did back in the summer of 1979.
