DescriptionThe peony flower is vibrant with history, and represents compassion, romance, and healing. In Chinese, it is known as mǔdān (牡丹), or fùguìhuā (富貴花) - the flower of riche s and honour, and has been a symbol of beauty and prosperity since early on in the culture. The name in English comes from Paeon, who in Greek mythology was a student of Asclepius, the god of medicine and healing. According to legend, Paeon was turned into this most exquisite of flowers by Zeus in order to be saved from the wrath of Asclepius. Available in two 2 colour-ways: vibrant and muted.
