Goldie’s Final 8-Week Pottery Term Mondays | 6:00pm - 9:00pm Starts: Monday 31st August Duration: 8 consecutive weeks Class Size: Maximum 10 people Investment: $480 ($60 per class) This is it. Goldie’s final ever term course. Over eight weeks, I’ll be sharing the techniques, skills and knowledge I’ve developed over the past three years, teaching you the fundamentals of both hand building and wheel throwing in a relaxed, creative environment. Whether you’re completely new to clay or have a little experience already, this course is designed to give you the confidence and practical skills to continue creating long after the term ends. What you’ll learn Throughout the course we’ll cover: Wheel throwing fundamentals Hand building techniques Trimming and finishing Surface decoration and texture Glazing techniques Functional pottery design Clay preparation and handling Tips, tricks and troubleshooting from years of teaching By the end of the course you’ll have created up to 10 functional ceramic pieces, glazed, fired and ready to be used in your home for years to come. How the classes work: Each Monday evening is split between hand building and wheel throwing, so you’ll explore both techniques every single week. Working this way keeps everyone creating for the full 3 hours, allows your skills to develop consistently across both disciplines, and gives you the opportunity to experiment with a wide variety of pottery techniques throughout the term. What’s included All clay and materials Glazing and firing Up to 10 finished ceramic pieces Small class size with plenty of one-on-one guidance 20 hours of practical tuition What to bring Yourself (and an open, creative mind!) An apron (or clothes you don’t mind getting muddy) A small hand towel BYO snacks and drinks A large plastic container with a lid to safely transport your work home each week (yes we’re sending you home each week with homework!) Homework Each week you’ll take your current projects home with you. Not only does this help keep your pieces safe as they dry, it also gives you the opportunity to admire your progress, make any little finishing touches if you wish, and come back the following week ready for the next stage. Consider it the only homework you’ll actually enjoy. Please note This course has been carefully designed so each week builds on the last. Because we’ll be progressing together as a group, attendance each week is essential. Please ensure you’re able to commit to all eight Wednesday evenings before booking. There won’t be another term like this. I’d love to spend one last season sharing everything I know, helping you build confidence with clay, and sending you home with a collection of handmade pieces you’ll treasure for years to come.
