This Hungarian heirloom arrived in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, with the Hussli family in 1912. Its horn-shaped fruits are mildly hot at 500-1,000 SHUs, but removing the seeds and pith f rom the fruits puts the accent on their sweet flavour and crisp texture. The fruits average 6" long, about 2.5" wide at the shoulder, and tapering to a blunt point. The compact plants are very well adapted for cool, short season growing, and are highly productive.
