[description action="start"] This heirloom type from Greece yields prodigious quantities of thin-walled pickling peppers on compact, vigorous plants. Harvest the peppers when they are light green and 5-7.5cm (2-3”) long. Mild with just a tiny bit of heat. Less than 100 SHUs. If peppers are left to turn red, they do become even sweeter. The rich taste is like a sun-dried tomato with just a tiny hint of warmth. Pepperoncini is wonderful for eating fresh, chopped in salads, served with dips or breads, and of course, pickled.
