Considerably better. Gold plating is a microscopically thin layer of gold on top of another metal, measured in fractions of a micron, and it wears through. Gold filled is a solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal under heat and pressure, and by law it has to be at least 5 percent gold by weight, which is hundreds of times more gold than plating. It does not flake, and it holds its color through years of daily wear. On a bracelet you never take off, that difference is the whole ball game.
