HFCTs allow online, in service, non-invasive testing of shielded MV / HV cables for partial discharge. - Test boxes are weather-poof and can be padlocked for safety- Text boxes are available in 1-12 port configurations- Split core HFCT allow indoor installation without disconnecting ground straps- Weather-proof HFCT allow for outdoor installation The HFCT needs to be installed on the ground strap of MV/HV cables to run partial discharge tests. Installing the HFCT permanently and bringing the connections out to a user accessible location allows test to be run at any time. Periodic surveys can be undertaken under any conditions and future full-time monitoring can be added with no outage. The EA HFCT and previous generation RFCT can safely be installed in most indoor enclosures. EA has custom designed outdoor versions of the HFCT for applications like riser poles or substation structures.
