See it before I make it You'll get a 3D render of your finished map before I cut a single layer. Look at it properly, ask me to change anything, and approve it only when it's right. If you decide you don't want it, you get a full refund — no argument, no cost. Nothing goes into production until you're happy. What it is A relief map of a real place, built from cut layers of birch plywood rather than printed. Land and lakebed step up and down in physical layers, so terrain and water depth are things you can see and feel from across the room. Water is poured epoxy resin, not paint or ink. How the depth works Each contour becomes its own layer of wood. On a lake or coastline the layers step downward to show how the water deepens; on terrain they step up to show elevation. It's the same principle as a nautical depth chart or a contour map, cut in wood and filled with resin. The epoxy water Resin is poured over the cut water layers and left to settle and cure. It ends up clear and deep, catching light the way water does and sitting slightly proud of the wood. This is the part people notice first, and it's the reason most of my customers come to me rather than buy a printed map. What it's made of Premium birch plywood, with poured epoxy resin for the water. Text and place names are laser-engraved and read dark brown or black. Icons are cut in three dimensions and fixed to the base layer. The whole piece is sealed with varnish. It's made for indoors — don't hang it outside. Where the depth data comes from Real bathymetric sonar data. The contours under the epoxy are the actual measured depths of that lake or stretch of coast, not a decorative approximation — which is why the shape of the lakebed looks right to anyone who knows the water. Small local lakes and unnamed inlets work just as well as famous ones. Cities and streets too Most of what I make involves water, but I can map a city, a street or a single address if that's the place that matters to you. Just tell me what you're after when you order. Mark what matters on it Icons can go anywhere on the map — the cabin, the dock, the mooring, the trailhead, the spot where something happened. There's a set to choose from, and if the icon you want doesn't exist I'll make it for you at no extra cost. Custom text can be engraved on the front or the back. How long it takes Each map is made to order, so allow 2–4 weeks for me to build it, then 3–5 business days with DHL. Around 3–5 weeks in total. Working to a deadline?
