Sydney's Pestilential Shadows have spent the better part of two decades doing what Australian black metal does best: taking the genre's orthodoxy and dragging it somewhere colder and more suffocating than it started. Ephemeral is the sound of a band with nothing left to prove and everything left to destroy.Released through Melbourne's own Séance Records, this 2014 full-length is a landmark in the Australian black metal underground. Raw where it needs to be, atmospheric where it counts, and utterly indifferent to whatever was trendy in metal at the time. If you're building a serious collection of antipodean extreme music, this one belongs in it.Format: CD. Full-length album. Released 2014 via Séance Records. Country of origin: Australia. Genre: Black Metal.Fans of: Nazxul, Saturnian Mist, Norse, Kafirun, Nocturnes Mist.
