This piece is the result of a “happy accident” moment. I had a completely different plan for this Carrara stone until I notice a large crack in it. A few taps with the mall hammer and small chunk fell off to reveal a beautiful ascending curve. All I could see after that was a sweeping unfurling flower petals. The Saint Laurent marble base was designed to accent the upward movement of the petals from an abstracted sepal and stem.
