The cover, photographed and manipulated by Hipgnosis, features Gabriel sitting in a rain-soaked car, with water streaks creating a surreal, almost dissolving effect. The album introduced Gabriel’s eclectic and experimental approach to rock and art pop, featuring standout tracks like “Solsbury Hill,” a reflective anthem about his departure from Genesis, as well as “Moribund the Burgermeister” and “Modern Love,” which showcased his theatrical flair and genre-blending instincts.
