About this album Passion is one of Peter Gabriel’s most important and influential works, turning The Last Temptation of Christ soundtrack into a bold fusion of art rock, electronic textures and global percussion. Issued in 1989, the album draws on musicians from across the world to create music that feels both devotional and restless, with pieces such as The Feeling Begins and Stigmata giving the film a distinctive emotional and spiritual weight. More than a conventional soundtrack, it helped define Gabriel’s approach to cross-cultural collaboration and became a landmark in late-20th-century world music and soundtrack composition.
