About Peter Phillips As one of the defining pioneers of British Pop Art, Peter Phillips helped shape one of the most influential art movements of the 20th century. Emerging from the Royal College of Art in London, Peter was among the earliest artists to push Pop Art into bold new territory — bringing together consumer culture, machinery, symbolism, collage and fine art in a way that helped define the movement before it was fully recognised. A friend and peer of artists including Brett Whiteley, David Hockney, Allen Jones and R.B. Kitaj, and later exhibited alongside major international names of the era, Peter's work helped push British Pop Art onto the global stage.
