Antique Game Table Vintage. Found in a flea market in Lyon. Made of wood. Hinged top opens to reveal a game board inlaid with 100 hand made tiles which come out and can be stored in the divided drawer. 19.25" L x 20.75" W x 28.5' H (Open 38.25" L x 19.25" W x 27.5" H) Editor's notes This hand made table was made for a French game called Blanc et Noir. A charming French game table featuring an inset Blanc et Noir board composed of 100 alternating wooden tiles arranged in a 10-by-10 grid. Crafted in warm, richly patinated wood, the table retains its original gaming surface concealed beneath hinged leaves, allowing it to function equally well as an occasional table. A single drawer beneath the top was designed to store gaming pieces, a thoughtful detail that speaks to its original purpose. The beautifully worn surface, hand-forged iron hinges, and time-softened finish reflect generations of use and lend the piece an authentic provincial character. Whether used as a side table, accent table, or conversation piece, it offers a rare combination of decorative appeal and historical intrigue.
