Phalaenopsis 'Liberty' is an elegant white moth orchid with a profusion of pristine blooms that can last for many weeks. Beautiful and easy to care for, it's a timeless choice for brightening your home or giving as a thoughtful gift. Place in bright, indirect light and water only when the roots turn silvery-grey, usually every 10–14 days depending on the season and the temperature in your home. Simply remove the nursery pot and soak the roots in tepid water for around 10 minutes before allowing any excess water to drain away. Feed with an orchid fertiliser during spring and summer, and gently wipe the leaves occasionally to keep them free from dust. Once the flowers have finished, trim the flowering stem just above the second visible node below the spent blooms. With the right conditions, this can encourage a new flowering shoot to develop. If your orchid is healthy but doesn't flower again after some time, placing it somewhere around 5°C cooler for four weeks will often encourage a fresh flower spike.
