John’s idea for a kick tail in the nose was to gain more leverage to execute tricks while riding revert. The MVP has seen a re-design in 2026 to feature a full ¾” tapered core and a more aggressive skimboard outline. John felt like he needed more control due to larger waves with his MVP and the tapered core is unique in the Phase 5 lineup offering more sensitivity in the nose and tail section of the board. The bat tail design, pulled in pin nose, and V-Spline bottom contours deliver maximum speed and handling. It is made with Hybrid Carbon™ material to take a beating and built with a single fin setup loaded with our 1” Skim Fin.
