Our late friend Phil posted the original photo of this beautiful sunset on social media, and he gave me permission to use it as inspiration. He was an avid bird watcher, hence the birds flying across the sky here, giving the painting a point of focus. It was a challenge to capture the range of colours in the sky, it's amazing how much of a variety there is when you're studying it so closely - trying to capture the glow and the graduations between the blue areas and the oranges. I hope that I've done it justice. This an original acrylic painting on canvas panel, unframed, and measures 18" x 14" / 457mm x 356mm. Show more
