The T2 is Phoam at its most compact. A perfect 12 inch cube, lower and more concentrated than the taller original, as much a sculptural plinth as an end table. The honeycomb relief wraps every face, and the arched base lifts it just clear of the floor. Its colour is the material itself. We move our studio-recycled PLA from warm red to deep blue as the piece prints, with no paint and no coating, so the gradient lives in the object rather than on it. No two are alike, and this one shifts as you move around it, terracotta warming one face, petrol blue cooling the next, plum pooling in the honeycomb hollows between. A solid white oak top sits above, its pale open grain a quiet counterweight to the colour below. Made in small batches in our Montréal studio. And like every Phoam, it's made to return to us at the end of its life, and become the next.
