As a structural component of neuronal membranes, PS supports membrane fluidity and the efficiency of signal transmission between nerve cells. It contributes to the maintenance of normal cognitive and brain function. PS supplements are derived from either soy lecithin or sunflower lecithin. Our PS is soy-derived, the form used in the majority of clinical research on phosphatidylserine to date, and the source on which the authorised EU health claims are based.
