Piconia is a diffusive and lively chemical that is not at all as widespread as it should be! Think of it as a patchouli and pipe tobacco radiant with dank vetiver elements. It is earthy, forest-like, fresh and has an interesting power in both top and base notes. A touch of Piconia can really give lift to a scent. Piconia is usually used pure and while you can use a fairly hefty dose, it is more commonly seen in the 0.1-2% range. Piconia may contain a trace of butylated hydroxytoluene as a preservative. That is added by IFF directly and not Fraterworks. Fortifying chemicals in this way is common in the industry and should pose no problems. Piconia is synthesised from the same starting material (isolongiopolene) as some other great chemicals, notably Symroxane, Ysamber, Ambermax and Folenox. Piconia blends marvellously with Ethyl Linalool, Linalool, Coranol, Dihyhdromyrcenol, Dimetol, Citrus and green bases like Amazonia and Verdantol. And of course it is a masterful modifier of patchouli naturals and members of the Clearwood family.
