We use 1/2" thick steel flat bar for our 'Picture Frame' bases. We can use any width of flat bar from 2" to 6". The 'Picture Frame' bases are custom built for each table top and ca n be tailored for dining table height (30" surface, $850), counter height (36" surface, $900) or pub table height (40" surface, $950). This design utilizes 90 degree corners. If you would prefer to have a trapezoidal shaped base, we can build one for you which utilizes 75 degree corners so the plate at ground level is shorter than the plate which mounts to the underside of the table.
