The Pilone Liscio Classico is an Italian terracotta planter with a square, upright form that reads almost like a low plinth. The sides are straight with a slight taper, and the rolled rim gives the top edge a bit of weight without adding ornament. Made in Impruneta from high-fired terracotta with a single drainage hole. The clay is naturally porous, allowing for airflow at the root level and helping regulate moisture. The surface starts matte and warm in tone, then deepens and develops variation over time outdoors. Frost-resistant, with good drainage recommended in colder conditions. With a 19" width and 22" height, it works well for boxwood, citrus, or more vertical plantings. Often used in pairs to frame an entry or spaced along a path where a square terracotta planter helps create a more structured layout.
