The first burn should be long enough for the surface layer to melt to the edge to ensure even subsequent burns and prevent tunneling – we recommend 2 hours. Always protect the surface on which the candle sits and keep it out of draft. Do not burn for more than four hours at a time. Do not leave it unattended. When approaching the end of the candle, leave ¼ inch of wax unburned and ensure you are not burning the candle for more than 3 hours.
