Ananas comosus, commonly known as pineapple, is a tropical fruiting plant prized for its sweet, juicy fruit and striking rosette of spiny foliage. Fun fact: each pineapple is actua lly made up of dozens of individual flowers that fuse together to form a single fruit. Pineapple plants also make attractive ornamental additions to landscapes and containers, often producing one fruit per plant before developing new offsets, or "pups."
