Pineapples. Are you thinking umbrella garnished drinks by the pool or a healthy summery dose of Vitamin C? Is it Carmen Miranda or a laden fruit bowl? Whatever your intention for this sweet but spikey fruit, making them in fabric will have you feeling just as happy. Pineapplez can be made in four sizes; 4”, 6”, 8” and 10”. The blocks are made in two parts with the bottom a piece of cake to make. The spikey leavez section takes a little longer to come together but is also easily conquered using my ‘cover corners’ technique. Pineapple fabric is easy enough to find - any yellow with a grid or repeat design should work if you desire realism. The 4” version also works well as a strawberry! Treat yourself to a touch of the tropics - with or without the umbrella! This PDF quilting pattern includes full fabric requirements, cutting instructions and step-by-step assembly guidance. You may customise it to your desired quilt size.
