By doing this, the oil will gradually travel up the reeds and disperse into the air over approximately 24 hours. For a more immediate scent boost, you can initially place the reeds into the oil, remove them, and then invert them so that the oil-soaked ends are exposed to the room. How long a scented diffuser lasts can vary depending on factors such as the temperature and the amount of air flow in the area. Generally, positioning the diffuser in a warm area with good air circulation will expedite the diffusion of the oil.
